The Rise Of Vegatarianism

Vegetarian

A vegetarian is a person who restricts his or her meals to vegetables. He or she avoids the consumption of poultry, meat or sea food. One may choose to practise vegetarianism because of a number of reasons. They may include:

  • · Religious alienation.
  • · Animal right protection.
  • · Health complications etc.

Vegetarianism has been on the increase worldwide. The hotel and tourism industry has therefor had to adjust and satisfy the demand for vegetarian meals. This has led to the rise of hotels commonly known as veggie hotels.

Some vegetarians strictly avoid all animal related products such as eggs and dairy products while others selectively ingest some of them. They are known as semi-vegetarians. Examples of vegetarian meals include; vegetarian pizza, burgers, vegetarian chilli etc.

Vegetarian meals are beneficial to the body. It has been proven clinically that vegetarians have good levels of cholesterol, less body weight, are less prone to developing lifestyle diseases e.g. cancer and have a higher life expectancy.

Following a vegetarian diet strictly ensures your body gets all the nutrients it needs.
